Before you begin

A domain you control and real DNS-service addresses.

Use the controls offered by your installed version and account permissions. This guide describes the workflow; it does not grant additional access.

Follow the steps

  1. Open Nameservers & Server URLs and enter the root domain and public IP.
  2. Set your nameserver names, for example ns1.example.com and ns2.example.com, with actual addresses.
  3. Save and inspect DNS service status.
  4. Create child-nameserver glue and delegation at the registrar.
  5. Query authoritative answers and public delegation separately.

Check the result

Registrar glue, delegation and server records agree.

If something goes wrong

Example names and documentation addresses must be replaced. Two names on one server do not provide independent DNS redundancy.
