Before you begin

An owned domain and knowledge of its DNS provider.

Use the controls offered by your installed version and account permissions. This guide describes the workflow; it does not grant additional access.

Follow the steps

  1. Open DNS Management and select the zone.
  2. Choose record type, name and value; enter TTL and priority when required.
  3. Inspect existing records before adding conflicting values.
  4. Save and inspect the recorded result.
  5. Query the authoritative nameserver and allow caches to expire.

Check the result

Authoritative answers contain the intended record.

If something goes wrong

If the registrar delegates externally, edit records there. A local non-authoritative zone cannot change public answers.
