Before you begin

An authorized local/S3 destination and private credentials where needed.

Use the controls offered by your installed version and account permissions. This guide describes the workflow; it does not grant additional access.

Follow the steps

  1. Open Backups and its destination controls.
  2. Enter only supported destination parameters and keep credentials private.
  3. Run the offered connection/verification action.
  4. Create a representative backup and inspect artifact location.
  5. Prove a restore on a disposable destination before relying on it for recovery.

Check the result

Connection, completed backup and tested restoration provide separate evidence.

If something goes wrong

A passing connection alone does not prove retention or restorability. Do not delete old backups until replacement coverage is verified.
