Before you begin

Provider console and actual source IP, port and protocol.

Use the controls offered by your installed version and account permissions. This guide describes the workflow; it does not grant additional access.

Follow the steps

  1. Open Firewall Manager or Fail2Ban for the relevant control.
  2. Inspect current rules and bans first.
  3. Match the narrow direction, source, port or jail involved.
  4. Use a bounded explained change through supported controls.
  5. Test a separate connection while keeping recovery access.

Check the result

The connection works without exposing unrelated services.

If something goes wrong

Never flush all rules or disable all jails as a generic fix. An existing SSH session can survive a rule blocking the next connection.
